Virtual Voices Series 1 - Choral Repertoire and Warm-ups (2020)

Very worthwhile PD with excellent practical and highly engaging warm-up and repertoire ideas!

The warm up video – great stuff!!

Head of Department

The virtual Professional development offered in 2020 (due to Covid)
provided a great opportunity for us to hear the recommended repertoire as sung by the various Birralee ensembles. The delivery of this online PD was
most professional and the quality of the repertoire chosen was excellent.

I liked the balance of informality and professionalism in the warmup presentations.  A joy to see and hear your wonderful conductors and singers in action. Overall, an educational and heart warming experience, and a perfect boost of inspiration to get me through ‘til the end of the year. Thank you.

This was great for busy teachers with full brains! It was handy to be able to come and go from the video format and watch over a period of time which you are unable to do in a live setting. Also great to return to review pieces and warm-ups. Really useful for repertoire reading sessions for the future with or without a virus! Thank you all at Birralee for much needed inspiration for 2021.

Repertoire Reading & Conducting Techniques (2019)

The conducting session run by Paul Holley was full of helpful advice and strategies for improving one’s skills. Rehearsal strategies and ‘warm-ups’ demonstrated by the experienced Birralee team were also featured at the PD day. These are always a welcome addition to targeted professional development. Extending our toolkit for the many challenges as they arise when working with choirs of all ages is again most helpful.
