"There were too many highlights to single one out, but Requiem was really special. The music itself was spine-tingling, but also the lighting change, candles, and having words up on screen."

"We always enjoy seeing the progression of the different groups and are always amazed by the beautiful music created by all the groups."

"I loved seeing all of the different choirs, and then some performing together. The standard was extremely high and it was very enjoyable. "

"Wonderful to see my daughter performing with Birralee Kids, she loves the choir. However it was also incredible to hear all the other choirs - they really are superb - a testament to the fantastic conductors, accompanists and other members of the community who performed. "

Queensland in Song - June 2024

QIS - JUNE 14 ( NO LINK)
CONCERT REVIEW
"My highlight was seeing the students have the opportunity to hear other choirs and sing together!"

"I particularly appreciated the commissioning of new works. Especially the model of funding (split between the various choirs) and the acknowledgement of such on the score.
New repertoire is so important because it captures important information about time and place. It also expands opportunities for learning and enjoyment for our children today, and for generations to come."

The Birralee Singers are proud to welcome guest ensembles from Padua College, St Anthony's Primary School, Robertson State School, Ironside State School and Citipointe Christian College to celebrate the voices of Queensland youth.

Each choir will perform individually including a world premiere by Birralee Singers of a new work commissioned from young Qld composer Inge Dekker. The groups will then join together to perform another world premiere entitled Flying Above with words by Joshua Clifford (Resonance member) and music by Paul Holley.

Queensland Symphony Orchestra Opera Gala - Mar 2024

Opera Gala
CONCERT IN REVIEW
Resonance of Birralee were thrilled to be the guest choir at the QSO Opera Gala on March 8 and March 9. Performing across the two concerts to two sold-out Lyric theatre audiences, Resonance of Birralee were highly regarded for their spectacular addition to the Queensland Symphony Orchestra.

CONCERT DETAILS
If you love a little drama, this is the concert for you!

In our Opera Gala, you can experience all of the highlights of Puccini’s operas in one spectacular concert, under the baton of conductor Giordano Bellincampi. Madame Butterfly flutters with scandal; glitz and glamour abound in La Bohème; and Tosca, Puccini’s sensual melodrama, is a bloodstained tale of love among political intrigue. Featuring soprano Sae-Kyung Rim, tenor Kang Wang, and baritone Phillip Rhodes, you’ll be enthralled by the intimacy of Puccini’s arias, and the powerful forces of love, longing and drama that echo through each and every note. With a rich tapestry of orchestral accompaniment and the 80-strong Voices of Birralee supporting every moment, this is a breathtaking occasion not to be missed!
