The combination of visual art and music draws together art lovers and musicians for a shared cultural experience that enhances both art forms. That is what the Vincent Project is all about.

Our mission is to inspire, educate and connect our community through the power of song. That's why creating and supporting new Australian choral compositions is essential for the evolution of choral music. This end-of-financial-year, we would love your support to make this vision a reality. We invite you to be part of this journey by contributing to our 23-24 EOFY fundraiser. Your donation will directly fund the creation of these new works, ensuring that they can be enjoyed by our community and beyond.

For this EOFY, our focus is the The Vincent Project! This wonderful commissioning project began in 2021, when Resonance of Birralee's Assistant Conductor, Clare Finlayson commissioned the first piece of a set of works inspired by the works of Vincent Van Gogh. Clare's vision began to take shape in the form of an exciting commissioning project, with the goal to produce 6 or 7 new Australian choral works by Australian composers that reflected paintings of the 6 periods of Vincent's output.

FIRST PERFORMANCES:
The Church at Auvers, Luke Byrne, performed by Resonance of Birralee - Choral Colours concert, September 2021
Cafe on the Terrace .... 10pm, Carl Crossin OAM, performed by Resonance of Birralee - Friends From Away concert, September 2023

LOOKING FORWARD:
There are currently 4 Australian composers engaged to complete works by early 2025.

The composers and the painting that inspired them:
Luke Byrne The Church at Auvers (1890)
Carl Crossin OAM Cafe Terrace at Night (Sept 1888)
Alice Chance View of Paris From Montmartre (1886)
Sally Whitwell Corridor in the Asylum (Sept 1889)
     Abigail Lui Sunflowers (1889)
Joseph Twist Wheat Field in Auvers Under a Clouded Sky (1890)

FUNDRAISING TIERS:
We had developed donation tiers to make it easy for you to support our project at a level that suits you. Each tier represents a tangible piece of the music, allowing you to feel personally connected to the work. As a token of our gratitude, each donor's name will be added to each piece of work as a lasting acknowledgement to celebrate your contribution to this important project.
