In early April 2010, the Brisbane based award winning choir, Resonance of Birralee, under the baton of Paul Holley recorded a new song, 'Sing for Australia'. The song was written by Isabel Tuck who lives in Bowral, NSW. She approached Birralee to ask if the song she had written could be recorded by one of the ensembles. The project was taken on and grew to include a brass ensemble from Queensland Wind and Brass. The recording was done by Jason Whiting of jtvvideo (www.jtvvideo.com) and has been posted on youtube.
The song is really an ode to Australia, to be sung joyfully, but with heartfelt intent. It highlights the beauty and culture of our country, as well as paying respect to those who have given their lives for our freedom. The latter making the song most suitable for ANZAC Day. If you would like a copy of the music please send an email to paul@birralee.org.
