Accompanist - Joanne Edwards
They are an auditioned group of children ranging in age from 6 to 9 years, and are under the direction of Debra Todhunter. This year the majority of the Piccolos are in grades 1 and 2. They are not only Birralee's cutest ensemble but also the smallest in number with approximately 30 members. With an emphasis on fun and quality repertoire, the Piccolos make a beautiful sound for such youngsters. As they develop their confidence and love for singing in a disciplined and fun environment they are also learning the fundamentals of music literacy and aural perception.
